Addison, TX-based NOTHING BUNDT CAKES (founded 1997) has increased 79 units, from 97 to 176 (81% growth) and entered into ID, KY, MD, MN, MO, NJ, SC and VA. These quick serve bakery/cafés are open for lunch and dinner with a $4-$12+ per person check average. Catering is available. Trading areas are in AL, AZ, CA, CO, FL, GA, ID, IL, KS, KY, LA, MD, MN, MO, MS, NC, NE, NJ, NM, NV, OH, OK, OR, SC, TN, TX, UT, VA and WA.

Fresno, CA-based MILANO RESTAURANTS INTERNATIONAL (founded 1958) has added 3 new concepts: Blast 825 Pizza (8), Victory Grill (1) and Me N Ed\’s Coney Island Grill (1).  Other company concepts include Me N Ed\’s Pizzeria (57), Piazza Del Pane (2), Slices (1) and Angel & Vito\’s (2). Overall company increase was from 60 to 72 (20% growth). These fast casual Italian style restaurants are open for lunch and dinner with a $6-$15+ per person check average. The restaurants offer beer and wine and have seating for about 100. Trading areas are in BC, CA, GA, and TX. Locations are franchised.

Calgary, AB-based MOXIE\’S CLASSIC GRILL (founded 1986) has increased 4 units for the Chop concept, from 8 to 12 (50% concept growth) and 1 unit for the Shark Club concept, from 12 to 13 (8% concept growth). Other company concepts include Moxie\’s Classic Grill (60) and Rockford (2). Overall company increase was from 82 to 87 (6% company growth). These family style American restaurants are open for lunch and dinner with a $10-$30+ per person check average. The restaurants have full bar and seating for about 225. Catering is available. Trading areas are AB, BC, MB, NB, NS, ON and SK.

Nashville, TN-based BONGO JAVA (founded 1993) has added a new concept called Fenwick\’s 300 (1 unit).  Other company concepts include Bongo Java (2), Fido (1), Grin\’s Café (1) and Hot & Cold (1).  Overall company increase was from 4 to 5 (25% company growth).  These quick serve coffee/shop cafes are open for breakfast and lunch, with a $4-$12+ per person price range.  Units seat about 30.  All the stores are in TN.

Winters, CA-based BUCKHORN RESTAURANT GROUP (founded 1980) has increased by 1 unit for the Buckhorn Grill concept, from 11 to 12 (9% concept growth).  Other company concepts are Buckhorn Steakhouse (1) and Putah Creek Café (1).  Overall company increase was from 13 to 14 (8% growth).  These family/casual steakhouse/American grill restaurants are open for lunch and dinner, with a $10-$30+ per person check average.  Putah Creek Cafe is open for breakfast.  Average unit has seating for about 150, with full bar service.  Catering, banquet and online ordering options are available.  Trading areas are CA and NY.

Jacksonville, FL-based BONO\’S PIT BAR-B-Q (founded 1949) has increased by 2 units, from 21 to 23 (10% growth) and entered into GA and SC.  This family/casual BBQ concept is open for lunch and dinner, with an $8-$20+ per person check average.  The restaurants serve beer and have seating for around 100.  Catering is available.  Locations are franchised and trade in CO, FL, GA and SC.

White Lake, MI-based DOLLY\’S PIZZA (founded 1966) has increased 3 units, from 16 to 18 (13% growth). These quick serve pizza restaurants are open for lunch and dinner with a $4-$12+ per person check average. Seating is for about 20 and catering is available. Trading areas are located in MI. Locations are franchised.

Denver, CO-based INK! COFFEE COMPANY (founded 1994) has increased by 2 units, from 11 to 13 (18% growth).  These quick serve coffee shops are open for breakfast, lunch and dinner hours, with a $4-$12+ per person price range.  Units have seating for about 30 and offer catering and delivery services.  Beer and wine are served at select locations.  All the shops are located in CO.

West Palm Beach, FL-based HURRICANE GRILL & WINGS (founded 1995) has increased by 2 units, from 70 to 72 (3% growth) and entered into CA and LA.  This family/casual concept is open for lunch and dinner, with an $8-$20+ per person check average.  The restaurants serve bar and grill food, specializing in chicken wings.  Locations have full bar service and seating for about 100.  Catering is available.  All locations are franchised and trade in AL, AZ, CA, CO, FL, GA, IA, LA, MD, MN, NC, NY, OK, TN and TX.  We last featured this company on 4/28/15 (17% growth).

Massachusetts-based ACAPULCO\’S MEXICAN FAMILY RESTAURANT & CANTINA (founded 2001) has increased by 1 unit for the Ixtapa Cantina concept, from 5 to 6 (20% concept growth).  The company also operates the 12-unit Acapulco\’s concept.  Overall company increase was from 17 to 18 (6% company growth).  These family/casual Mexican concepts are open for lunch and dinner, with a $10-$30+ per person check average.  The restaurants have full bar service and average seating for about 125.  Catering and banquet facilities are available.  Trading areas are CT and MA.  We wrote about this concept on 9/9/14 (13% growth).
